Home/Renovation Guides/Renovating from Abroad

Guide · 04

Renovating in Valencia while you live somewhere else.

A holiday flat in Alboraya, a future home in L'Eliana, an investment in Ruzafa — renovated while you're in London, Berlin or Dubai. Here's how the remote process works and what to agree before you board the plane.

The short answer

Distance is a logistics detail, not an obstacle.

A well-documented renovation doesn't need you on site — it needs decisions in writing, money tied to milestones and proof of what's behind the walls. That's our standard process anyway: written quote, agreed schedule, photo record of concealed work, documented handover. Remote owners simply consume it by message instead of in person — in English, Spanish or Russian.

The remote process

Five steps, none of them at the airport.

01

Brief by message

Photos or a video walkthrough, the rough m² and what you want changed — enough for a written scoped estimate.

No call needed

Keys & technical visit

Access via a neighbour, administrator or key service — recorded in the plan. We measure, verify and confirm the quote.

Decisions asynchronously

Tile, colour and fitting choices arrive as short written options with prices — answer from any time zone; nothing is substituted silently.

Why it works here

Our standard was built for owners who aren't there.

Message-first by design

The whole company runs on written communication — remote clients aren't the exception, they're the default we engineered for.

Fixed written figure

The signed quote doesn't drift while you're away — changes need your written approval first, always.

Sister divisions, one plan

Plumbing, electrics and climate handled by VELTORRA's own crews — no coordinating strangers from another country.

Local pages, local knowledge

From Alboraya beach flats to L'Eliana villas — we know the buildings you're buying into.

Questions, answered

Remote renovations — the usual questions.

Can I renovate an apartment in Valencia without being in Spain?

Yes — many VELTORRA Reformas clients are abroad for the entire project. The quote, schedule, decisions, photo reports and handover all run by WhatsApp or email, in English, Spanish or Russian. You need to be present exactly zero times, though most owners choose to see the result in person.

How do I hand over the keys if I'm not there?

Any way you're comfortable with: a neighbour or administrator, a key-holding service, or keys left during a prior visit. Access arrangements are recorded in the written project plan, and the named lead engineer is personally responsible for them.

How will I know the work is actually progressing?

Photo reports arrive by message as each stage closes — including the concealed work (pipework, wiring, waterproofing) photographed before walls and floors are sealed. You see more of a VELTORRA renovation from abroad than most owners see standing in the flat.

How are payments handled on a remote renovation?

Against the written quote, in stages agreed before work starts — never in undocumented cash, never ahead of the schedule you signed. The figure is fixed in writing and changes only with your prior written approval.

Who makes the small decisions while I'm away?

You do — just asynchronously. Choices are sent to you as short written options with photos and prices; nothing is substituted silently. If you prefer, you can pre-delegate defined decisions to the lead engineer in the project plan.

Start the project from wherever you are.

Send photos or a video of the property, the rough m² and your area — the written estimate arrives the same way, in your language. Fly out only for the good part.
